David Reeves Boggs

He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1968 and later went to Princeton University, earning his graduate degree in electrical engineering in 1972. Boggs was active in amateur radio while growing up, and spent many nights chatting with fellow ham radio operators. His father was a finance officer for the U.S. Army.

He also co-invented Ethernet, which connects PCs to each other and the internet. At the age of 71, Boggs died of heart failure. Boggs later left 3Com and joined the Digital Equipment Corporation’s Western Research Laboratory. In 2000, SBE purchased LAN Media and later became Neonode.
