The Pyra and Mythra release time will be revealed in a Nintendo presentation on March 4, 2021. The presentation will take place at 6am PT, 9am ET, and 2pm GMT. The director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will deliver the presentation, so it’s best to tune in! You can also find out more information about the game in the video below! Also, don’t miss the Fighters Pass Vol. 2!

Pyra:

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 series will be releasing two new characters – Pyra and Mythra – for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on March 4. While they come with their own set of strengths, Pyra will add power, speed, and an element of fire to the mix. It’s difficult to guess what they’ll bring to the mix, but both characters should be exciting to play.

Mythra:

Both Pyra and Mythra will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster this month. Both characters are from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and look fun to use in the game. The main difference between the two is Pyra’s lack of mobility, while Mythra’s impressive damage output and unique Foresight ability make her an ideal match for competitive players.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will have two new playable characters, Mythra and Pyra. While both have varying fighting styles and strengths, Pyra will be a more powerful damage dealer and Mythra will be more fast-paced. Both will be playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. You can read more about Pyra and Mythra’s characteristics in the following sections.

Fighters Pass Vol. 2:

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will feature the twinned characters Pyra and Mythra as part of its Fighters Pass Vol. 2 DLC season pass. In a video walkthrough, Masahiro Sakurai showcased the new moves of Pyra and Mythra as well as a sneak peek of the new Cloud Sea of Alrest stage. While they share a common ancestor, Pyra is the legendary Blade while Mythra is the other personality sealed inside her.

Performance:

The upcoming Pyra and Mythra performance will be held by the director of Smash Ultimate, Masahiro Sakurai. Sakurai has previously hosted deep dives on each of the characters in the series. The performance will be held 8 days after the game’s release. The two new characters will be added to the roster. This marks the second DLC pass for the upcoming game.

Moveset:

Pyra’s slash is a powerful weapon that drags her opponent forward and renders them intangible for a short amount of time. Mythra’s slash is one of the strongest launching attacks, KOing an opponent at 50% charge on full charge. Her initial slash is useful out of her shield. It starts on frame 10 and combos into a projectile attack. If you hold the special button to make it an unblockable move, you will transform it into Chroma Dust, which replaces the spear with a set of smaller projectiles.
